IFUW, in partnership with UN Women East and Southern Africa, invite you to a multi-stakeholder panel discussion on:
Perspectives on Women’s Education for Entrepreneurship in Africa
26 March 2015, 18:00 – 20:00
(followed by drinks reception, close 21.30)
Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, Kigwa Road, Nairobi, Kenya
THE ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN is an essential condition for sustainable development, social change and fiscal growth. In Africa, the rate of women’s entrepreneurship is higher than in any other region in the world, yet a substantial portion of African women entrepreneurs are concentrated in the informal, micro, low-growth, low-profit areas. How can the regional and institutional frameworks better support the transition of women entrepreneurs into more profitable and larger-scale markets? The seminar will seek to answer this question and others, including:
- How to promote business acumen and financial literacy in learning curricula and training programmes
- Best practices/case studies on what frameworks and initiatives have worked in Africa to empower more women entrepreneurs
- African women leaders: challenges and progress
Attendance is free of charge. Please RSVP here to register your participation.
