GWI Day in Dublin
On 24 May 2014, the Irish Federation will celebrate GWI Day with a seminar in Dublin. Speaker Frédérique Vallières will present “Women’s role in achieving a sustainable future through Education”, a paper that she presented to IFUW in Istanbul in August 2013.
Her research focused on the education of young girls as a means to combat early marriage in the Maasai of Tanzania. Dr Vallières contends that education is now seen as one way to provide a sustainable economic future for the young women.
